The Last Christmas: The North Pole is Melting!

The Last Christmas: The North Pole is Melting!

Standalone Kid's Book – not currently available

“A rollicking fantasy adventure for young readers, with lively characters and pacy plot. You’ll never think of Santa’s land in the same way again!”

Sophie Masson

The ice at the North Pole is melting.

Vixen, the littlest reindeer, is very afraid.

Santa’s toy workshop will soon fall into the sea, he has nowhere to go, and the elves who make the Christmas toys for him are threatening to leave. They’re terrified of an old enemy, but won’t say who it is, only that –

The dark is rising again.

Will this be the last Christmas?

Then an evil toymaker, Kroolio Snear, attacks the village. He’s trying to steal Christmas and Santa can’t stop him because something is robbing him of his magic. Soon Snear captures Rafe, the leader of the reindeer, then Dasher, Vixen’s best friend. Suddenly it’s all up to her.

But even if the smallest reindeer can convince everyone to follow her leadership, how can she hope to beat Snear and his army of vicious robot toys? How can she find a new home, where the ice is not melting, for Santa’s workshop? A place where the elves will feel safe from their ancient enemy?

How can Vixen possibly do all this in time to save Christmas?

What people are saying...

“The melting of the North Pole and the loss of their home are big enough problems for Santa and his crew. But when a mysterious figure turns up in a flying machine, and offers to take on Santa’s business, all hell breaks loose. Will Christmas really be wrecked forever? Not if the reindeer have anything to do with it!

A rollicking fantasy adventure for young readers, with lively characters and pacy plot. You’ll never think of Santa’s land in the same way again!”

Sophie Masson, award-winning and bestselling author of more than 50 books for children and older readers

“A serious climate change message, a bunch of hilarious reindeer, an absolute charmer of a story! I can¹t think of a better Xmas present – if you can wait that long!”

Richard Harland, multi-award winning author of Worldshaker and many other books for children and young adults

“The Last Christmas puts a realistic modern twist on Santa’s current operations at the North Pole. This adventurous quest highlights the effects that global warming and corporate greed is having on, not just Santa, his reindeer and elves, but on wildlife that shares their wintry home. Still, where there is an adventurous spirit and will for improvement, there is hope to find a solution. This is a tale with an important message attached – for no one is never too young to start considering the impact that human beings have on our environment.”

Traci Harding, bestselling author of The Ancient Future fantasy series and many other novels

Edie, aged 10
